Save and share your own processes
The way your business works is worth keeping. When a session or a project runs well, save it as a process. Your team then starts the next one from the same steps, setup and assignments.
How do I save a session as a process?
Open the session, open its menu and select Save session process. The option shows once the session has steps.
- Give the process a name and a short description. Add a full description if it helps others choose it.
- Choose an icon, a preview image, a phase and use cases. These help people find it in the library.
- Choose your options:
- Private to me only keeps the process out of your team's library.
- Save team assignees assigns the same team members again each time the process is used.
- Save AI coworker assignments assigns the same AI coworkers again to the same sessions and steps.
- Select Save to process library. The process appears under Your processes.
How do I save a whole project as a process?
Open the project menu and select Save multi-session process. This needs Nova Pro.
- Give it a Name, a Description and Categories.
- Save as sets how new projects open: Board or List.
- Use newest process versions builds each new project from the newest published version of each session process with the same name. Turn it off to keep the versions as they are now.
- Save sessions to my process library also saves each session as its own session process. If a name is taken, Nova adds a number, for example "Onboarding (1)".
- Save team assignees and Save AI coworker assignments work as they do for a session.
Large multi-session processes can be premium processes.
Files come along
Files in the project's files area are saved with the process. New projects made from it start with the same files.
How do I change a process I saved?
Open the process in the library and select Edit process. The workspace owner, workspace managers and admins can edit your workspace's processes. Make your changes and select Save changes. The process keeps its link, so links you shared still work.
Work you already created from the process does not change.
What if the name is already taken?
Nova shows "This process name is taken" and gives you two choices:
- Update existing process replaces the old process with the new one. Its share code moves to the new process. Projects already made from it do not change.
- Save with a new name keeps both.
Can I hide a process without deleting it?
Yes. On the process page, open More options and select Archive process. It leaves the library list. To see it again, turn on Show archived under Your processes. Select Publish process to bring it back.
How do I share a process with another workspace?
Workspaces that are set up to share processes, such as expert and consultant workspaces, see share controls on the process page. Sharing needs Nova Pro.
- Select Generate share code. Codes for session processes start with T. Codes for multi-session processes start with W.
- Select Create single use share link for a link that works once.
- Select Delete Code to stop the code from working.
The other person opens their Process Library and selects Import by code. The process shows "Shared from" with your workspace's name.
To share a set of spaces and projects instead of one process, use a workspace template.
